Angels of Arkansas #15

The Angel Mommies of Arkansas make their 15th donation of diapers as Maranda provides a collection in memory of her own children, the Tyra Angel Babies, as well as her sister, Shelby LeRoy.

For families of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas.

For Love of Tesslee and Vic, Part #2

Thank you, Arcadia Cotton, for making this donation of diapers possible!
Once upon a time, the Millward family donated diapers in memory of her little angel, Tesslee Summer Millward, who came silently into the world at 21 weeks gestation.  You can read more about Tesslee, their first donation and why they makes diapers by clicking here.

Sadly, since their family's first donation, they have lost another little one, whom they have named Victor Port Millward.

We received beautiful gingham prints from Arcadia Cotton.  The Young Women from the Copper Oaks Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Herriman, Utah cut them up into diapers and sewed up some of them!  Angel mama Sara Millward herself then finished them all off in memory of Tesslee and Vic.

Thank you so much to the YW of Copper Oaks and to Sara!
These diapers were donated in memory of Tesslee and Vic for families served by Kauai Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waimea, Hawaii and Mat-Su Regional Hospital in Palmer, Alaska.

And these were donated to Relief Share of Missouri, also in memory of The Millward Family Angel Babies.
These little white treasures were donated by Sara.

Donation from Peggy!

"The staff at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania were VERY pleased with receiving the tiny little diapers! I had my own assembly line going here! My 9 yr old daughter Megan was thrilled for Mommy to let her trace little diaper patterns out. My 16 yr old Christine did the cutting out. And my 20 year old daughter Danielle helped make blankets, hats, and crochet cocoons. She crochets some beautiful things. Much better than I could ever."  ~Peggy

Elliott Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire
DePaul Health Center in DePaul, Missouri
Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside in Greenville, South Carolina

"I first heard about SHARE on the TEENY TEARS website. I really felt a heart connection with SHARE and what they were doing for families: 'to serve those whose lives are touched by the tragic death of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth or in the first few months of life.' And then to provide resources for those families."  ~Carol, Northwestern Diaper Dreamer
My 11 yr old Granddaughter is a great help for me. She comes every Tuesday and will quite often turn, iron and card the diapers for me. She loves helping.
I took a picture of her. She thought there ought to be one of me...  (Carol)

Huge THANK YOU to Carol, Jana, Kim, Warren, Angie, Kaysha, Tangled Threads, and the whole Northwestern Diaper Dreamer team for all they do for angel families!

And THANK YOU, SHARE!

Diapers by Kim

A message from Northwest Diaper Dreamer, Carol...

"Kim Smith is a Northwest Diaper Dreamer and started sewing diapers when Jana and I did. Kim would probably not say much about herself, so I will. Kim has been my friend for nearly 30 years. We have been through a lot of life together. She is always supportive of me and my family. We meet together once a week to sew. Jana went to her house and told her she was expecting, Kim was beyond excited. Then we found out they were identical twin boys. There were issues with the pregnancy. When Jana would call me and I was not close by, Kim would drive to Bellingham and meet Jana and support her.

The day I drove home after Cohen and Carter were born and very early in the morning had to call Kim and tell her Carter had passed away. She was by my side in 30 minutes. Kim is an incredible woman with a HUGE heart for the angel babies.

Kim and her daughter McKenna make diapers in memory of Carter Garen Kimmel, my Grandson. Kim is always willing to host a diaper party in her home. Kim took home over 10 yards of fabric from our diaper party last week, She said she would cut diapers. We were shocked when she returned a bag of 500 cut out diapers THE NEXT DAY! Kim loves to take on the smaller hospitals, so she can be sure to make a matching tiny blanket with each set of diapers. We love you Kim!"  ~Carol, Northwestern Diaper Dreamer

For Love of Savannah, Sweet Savannah Knits

Courtney Dussman, the creator of Sweet Savannah Knits, serves preemies in a variety of ways, all in memory of sweet Savannah Rae.  From knitted clothing for preemies in the NICU to Teeny Tears bereavement diapers for preemie angel babies, Savannah's memory lives on through her family's service in her name.
"I felt SO BLESSED to be Savannah's Mommy! What a wonderful gift she has given me. She has given me the ability to make a difference in other families' lives just as others did for our family during her time in the NICU .

Our mission is to provide comfort and warmth by giving hand knit hats and booties to anyone who has or knows a baby in the NICU. When my daughter was in the NICU, the nurses put the tiniest bow in her hair and I remember that it meant so much to me. It was a small act that brought a moment of joy in a very scary time. I want to provide this for other families!"
~Courtney, angel mama to Savannah

Read Savannah Rae's special story by clicking here.

Courtney was nominated for her dedicated service as a Remarkable Woman in the Chicago Tribune:
Courtney recently donated Teeny Tears diapers as well as itty bitty blankets for angel families served by Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois.

"Savannah Rae is truly a miracle baby. She fought all odds against her. She made it past the first trimester, second trimester and into the third. She was born alive and lived for 4 days. She is my hero! I believe with all my heart that she was brought to me for a reason. I may never know why but that is ok. What I do know is that I have learned lifelong lessons from her." ~Courtney
